DIY Litter Cleanup
Ongoing, anytime, anywhere.
Organizing a litter cleanup with your friends, neighbors, co-workers, or other community members is easier than you may think! Asheville GreenWorks provides cleanup supplies and safety information, and will coordinate trash pick up as needed. Supplies include gloves, safety vests, trash bags, trash grabbers, and a SHARPs container. Register now to learn more about borrowing supplies to organize your own cleanup.

Join AGW and StreamKeepers for a creek cleanup followed by a laid-back beer/drink social! Locations will vary, so please refer to the event description for each gathering.
Coffee & Cleanup 2025
Every Thursday
Noon to 3pm
Locations vary weekly
Join AGW for a delicious cup of coffee and conversation at one of our local shops, followed by a roadside litter clean! Help us support local businesses and continue storm recovery and restoration! All supplies and appropriate PPE will be provided. Family friendly: All ages welcome! Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
Free Tree Workshop - Feb 22nd 2025
Saturday, Feb 22nd 2pm to 4pm
Join Asheville GreenWorks and Buncombe County Libraries for a FREE tree planting workshop at the Leicester Library. Local experts will go over the following topics: site evaluation, utilities, soil conditions, selecting nursery stock and installing a new tree.
We will hold a one hour indoor portion and then a one hour outdoor installation at the Library. Please dress to get a little dirty and bring along a water bottle. Tools and support will be provided

Hard 2 Recycle East - May 3rd 2025
Saturday, May 3rd 10am-2pm
Volunteers needed to support this super fun, waste reduction event on the campus of AC Reynolds High School. Join one of our volunteer teams as we collect thousands of pounds of items that would have normally ended up in the Landfill. We offer two shifts morning (9am to Noon) and afternoon (11:30am to 2:30pm)
Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the event as well as high-fives and music. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon. Sign up to help us run this event.
